It is important to remember that all hot air balloon entertainment is dependent on the weather conditions on the day.
We plan to host a variety of balloon activities including midday launches, balloon tethering, meet the pilots, and our popular night glow show.
Our pilots travel not only from across the country, but also from overseas, to bring their balloons to our events. Because of this, we will do everything we can to ensure the hot air balloons entertain you.
Our flight director will be on-site to check the wind speed, direction and strength to ensure the balloon launches are safe for the pilots, passengers and you as a member of the crowd.
Yes, we allow blankets and folding chairs to be brought in. Please note, our policy is one chair per person and these chairs must be foldable.
We do not allow gazebos, laysacs, windbreakers or tents. Structures like these blocks the view of the stage for other visitors, so please be considerate of others when setting up your area and don’t take up too much space.
Yes, you will be able to come and go as you please. Be sure to ask the stewards for a wristband on exit so you can re-enter with ease. Bag searches will take place by a trained member of staff or steward.
Yes, dogs are welcome on site and they must be on a lead at all times. All dog fouling must be picked up and placed in a nearby bin. Please be aware that there will be crowds and loud noises as they day goes on.
Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta does not run flights from the event. However, you can enquire about booking a flight with our flight director at Yorkshire Balloon Flights
Most traders will accept both cash and card payments at their stalls.
If possible, we recommend bringing both on the off-chance a particular stall only accepts one form of payment.
There will be a cash machine on site, *transaction fees will apply
The gates will open at 10am and the event will finish at 10:30pm each day.
Access to Castle Howard is NOT included in your ticket to the Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta.
There will be opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to Castle Howard on the day.
Ticket prices vary from age of ticket holder and duration of stay. Please find out more information on our ticket page.
Children under 3 years of age can enter this event for free but you must obtain a ticket for them.
Please ensure children of ALL ages are accompanied by an adult at all times.
Personal Assistant tickets are only issued where the disabled customer requires a significant and substantial amount of support from another person to attend the event. This support must be beyond what can reasonably be expected to be provided by friends and family already in attendance with you.

Yes, parking is available on site. This is included in your ticket admission and therefore no extra fees are required.

No, you do not need to pay for parking as this is included in the price of the tickets.
Yes, there will be dedicated spaces for Blue Badge holders.
Parking spaces are allocated on a first-come first-served basis and cannot be pre-booked.
Blue Badge Permits will be required before entry into the car park. Parking spaces are restricted to one badge per car, any additional cars with friends and family members not holding a blue badge will need to park in the main car parks. Balloon fiesta staff members will be on hand to guide you to the car parks.
You can return to your car to pick something up and return back in to the event. Please alert the staff on the gate so they can give you a wristband for re-entry.
You may also leave the event and return later in the day. However, your parking space is not reserved and you will have to park further back in the car park upon re-entry. Due to the build-up of traffic throughout the day, we strongly recommend staying inside the site, if you can.
Yes, there will be plenty of food stalls, hot and cold drinks, snacks, desserts and more.
We allow picnics, soft drinks and your own food to be brought in. There is strictly NO glass and NO alcohol allowed on the premises. You can only purchase alcohol once inside the event at the licensed bar.
Yes, there will be a licensed bar on site selling alcohol to adults aged 18+. The challenge 25 policy will apply at the bar.
If required, a valid form of photo ID will be needed to show proof of age.
