York Balloon Fiesta is now Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta. We changed the name to encourage people and businesses from wider parts of Yorkshire to get involved.

No, Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta isn’t cancelled. The event has been moved and will be held from Friday 27th to Monday 30th August 2021 due to York Races now been held on the original weekend.

In 2019, we welcomed approximately 35,000 people to Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta over the 3 days.

Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta is held on the Knavesmire at York Racecourse YO23 1EX.

Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta is an outdoor event on grass. Dress for the great British weather and wear appropriate footwear. You may wish to bring a raincoat and umbrella and some sunscreen.

Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta runs over 4 days from Friday 27th August to Monday 30th August 2021.

Yes, you are welcome to bring well-behaved dogs to Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta for free. Please always keep them on a lead and come prepared to pick up any messes they might make.

Please be aware there Is a lot of activity and noise I.e. funfairs, fireworks and arena display.

Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta is on the Knavesmire at York Racecourse. The event is flat, but on grass that could be quite bumpy. Additionally, if there has been a lot of rain, it could become boggy and difficult to use a wheelchair. Please note that rides are not accessible for wheelchairs.

Disabled toilets are available.

This is a family orientated event. There are lots of activities for children at Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta, including face painting and entertainment by CBeebies’ Andy and the Oddsocks. The hot air balloon tethering and mass launches are also extremely popular with children of all ages. Please see the event schedule for the full details.

Tickets

Yes, tickets cost £3 and can only be bought on the Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta website or on the gate.

Anyone else claiming to be selling a ticket is not an authorised seller.

Entry for Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta is £3 for anyone over 1 meter in height per day. There will be limited number of early bird 4 day passes available up until 1st May.

£1 from every ticket sold will be split equally between our three Yorkshire charities; St Leonards hospice, York Rescue Boat and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

All arena acts, stage entertainment, balloon activities (night glows, mass launches) *Weather dependent and firework, laser and drone display.

Please note bar, food, funfair rides and trade stands etc will incur additional charges.

If the event is unable to take place in 2021 the event will be postponed and rescheduled to September 2022 if you have already purchased your ticket then your ticket will automatically be transferred to the new dates 2022.

Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta won’t be cancelled entirely. The same event along with the artists already booked will be moved to a new date and will still take place, just on another date. As per the terms and conditions tickets are non-refundable. Should the event be postponed your tickets will be transferred for free to the new dates so you will not lose your money or miss out. Your tickets will be valid for the new dates chosen.

Once you have booked your tickets, you will receive a booking confirmation email with your booking reference in. This is not your ticket.

Your tickets for the event will be emailed to you at least two weeks before the event.

If you don’t receive your booking confirmation or tickets, please check your junk mail. If you still don’t have it, please contact us at hello@dev.yorkshireballoonfiesta.co.uk

Your ticket can either be printed off or you can show your ticket on your phone. Please ensure your phone is working and your screen has no cracks or dirt as the ticket won’t scan. (We advise you bring a paper version as a backup.)

You’ll be able to leave and come back in provided you have informed the gate staff and you have been issued a wrist band (colour changes each day) which will need to be worn and still intact when you arrive back on site.

When Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta 2022 is finalised, we will provide more information about getting to the event.

Food and Drink

You’re more than welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks with you to Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta. However, there will be lots of choice for delicious food that you can purchase during the event.

Strictly no glass or alcohol.

Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to drink alcohol that you have brought from home due to our licensing. Alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase from our onsite catering partners.

Alcohol will be available to purchase from our onsite catering partners and can be consumed onsite. However, due to our licensing, we cannot permit you to bring alcohol with you.

Activities and Entertainment

Hot air balloon rides can be purchased from our event partner, Yorkshire Balloon Flights. There is limited availability and is subject to weather on the day. Please see the Yorkshire Balloon Flights website for further details.

There’s lots going on at Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta including funfair rides, tribute acts, dance troupes, children’s entertainment, mass hot air balloon take-offs and the popular Night Glow with firework and laser show.
